This is possible when your handset has lost contact with the base. So you must program the unit by following the registration procedure. Hold the paging key till the red LED starts flashing fast (it will first flash slowly) Press the program key of the handset Press the numeric key 9 The handset will now scan through the channels. If the handset found the base, the handset will give a confirmation beep.

You have to register the handset to the base by following the procedure Hold Base Page-key for 5 seconds till the Base LED will blink Press on the handset the R key. The handset will display number 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 or 9. Press the key number displayed on the handset.
